Top Prospects Tournament Rosters Released

I hope everybody had a pleasant holiday break. I will be back at work on the blog tomorrow, but I wanted to take a minute today and congratulate the 3 members of the Express that will be playing with the Central Division team at the NAHL Top Prospects Tournament next month:

Congratulations Tony McDonald, Cory Thorson, and Tim Smith.

You can read the article and see all the rosters here: http://www.nahl.com/news/story.cfm?id=759

- Interesting sidenote: There are also three former Express players on the Central Division roster with Brandon Brodhag, Jordan Singer, and Devin Schmitt also making the team.

See you at the rink.

Congratulations to the guys. It will be a great honor for them to play in the games.

Question, though. I noticed that Alpena has a game on the 18th and Wichita and Topeka have home games on the 20th. Do they have to play without their "All-Star" players?

In my opinion, the NAHL made a big mistake in the scheduling. Last year it was somewhat excusable to have regular games scheduled during the Top Prospects tournament, because the schedule was completed before they decided to do the TP tournament. However, it isn't fair to the teams or players involved to have to miss games. Bad move NAHL.

The schedules are made up by the coaches & owners themselves, and not the NAHL. The fact that the those teams made the schedule the way they did, was their own doing. The TP event was on the schedule when regular season schedules were done. Why they did that, is anyones guess
