Express draft pick Justin Lee, a defenseman who played with the Texas Tornado last year, has signed with Gustavus Adolphus College for the 2008/2009 season. I guess this explains why he did not attend tryout camp. It would have been nice to have another experienced defenseman, but this must have been an opportunity he couldn't pass up. Congratulations Justin, and good luck in St. Peter.
If you didn't get enough hockey action last weekend, there are a couple of camps you can watch this weekend. The North Iowa Outlaws opened their final camp yesterday, and it runs through Sunday. The Albert Lea Thunder open their final camp tomorrow, and it runs through Monday.
Our rivals in the Central Division stand to take a few hits as things stand today. North Iowa forward Joe Harcharik, who would have been the Outlaws leading returning scorer, is currently on the Des Moines Bucs roster. Alexandria's Joe Hartman, who would have been The Blizzard's top defenseman this season, is on the Indiana Ice's roster. The Bismarck Bobcats stand to lose 2 guys to the USHL, in forward Tye Lewis and defenseman Garrett Kennedy. Lewis is on the Omaha Lancer's roster, and Kennedy is with the Indiana Ice. This should level the playing field a little bit with our favorite team.
I found a cool article on the Texas Tornado Booster Club website. It was a message from Express defenseman Troy Puente's parents to the members of the booster club. Read it here: http://www.texastornadobc.com/#Richard%20Puente (Scroll down about 1/3 of the way through the page, next to the picture of Troy with what looks like Brett Hull) They had nothing but good things to say about the Express and Coach Cullen.
Have a great weekend, and thanks for reading.

The roster will NOT be released until the season opens. Some players are not protected and therefore up for grabs.
Hmmm. September is so far away. Cant they release 5 more names?
BK, who are u?
Dear Express:
I am interested in working for the team on an intern basis. Who do I call, Bill?
BK: Thanks for the info.
It is much appreciated.

Anonymous #3 - I am a fan of the Express, and that's all I will tell you at this juncture. Somewhere down the line I might reveal who I am, but right now I value my anonymity just as most of the comment writers do.
Anonymous #4 - I would call Rick Kolz or Kyle Berding at the Express office (214-1893). They would be able to help you out.
Stanley C - You are welcome, thanks for reading.
Changes like a topic every day, with usual replys etc.
Now the posting restrictions placed because I assume of a few wild ones (?)
Sometimes less is more.
Depends upon whom you ask, dont you think?
Its fine, agreed there is not the need to post all the time, relax and take it easy BK and thanks!
BK, is the "new" logo the one shown on your blog and the team website with EXPRESS below the original train, or is it something different? Did the team colors change too? I've been an Express fan since day one here in Central Minnesota and really appreciate your blog, thanks.
Firewagonhockey - Your welcome, thanks for reading. Yes, the logo on the main page of the blog is the new logo. The color scheme was tweaked a little from the original scheme. The green has been removed for this year. I haven't looked that carefully, but I think there are some slight changes to the train and obviously the font has changed.

FYI, Andy Inderieden, Ben Danford, Zack Hanson, Marco Ruggeri, and Bennett Schneider made the cut for the Machine.
I thought this was the express blog?
Anyone have an idea on how much a pair of season tickets are costing?
Website has no info and I know they are reduced but from what to what?
If you pay in cash you get a better deal.
I dont think the prices are less than before, maybe higher, but pay cash and you will get the best deal.
Call the Express office at 214-1893, and talk to Kyle or Rick. They will be able to give you all your ticket buying options.

What are the office hours?
I have been by two times to no avail.
Thanks
No surprise Carson's back. Needed to play somewhere. His dad helped the team finalize and pull together and that is great.
