I just got home from a very long day at my real job, and was worried about leaving the blog without supervision for 12 hours. First thing I did when I got home was check my email (I get an email every time somebody posts a comment), and I saw 17 new comments today. Thinking that at least a few of them where going to be blasting something or other, I started to read them. Much to my surprise, nothing really out of order had been posted. So thanks for being good today, and because of that, I will reward you with some information. Before I do that, I want to mention that the blog has gotten around 600 hits in the last 4 days, and over 1000 hits in the 12 days since I added the counter. Thanks for reading, and keep spreading the word. I got a kick out of talking to people at tryout camp (without revealing that I am Big Kahuna) about the blog, and getting their opinions. Many people had good things to say, and even a few way out-of-state people were complimentary of the blog.
Today's tidbits: Makeup of the team
Players with some NAHL experience - 6
Players from AAA Midget Major programs - 5
Players from Minnesota high schools - 5
Players from high schools outside of Minnesota - 6
Players from Canadian Junior programs - 1
While I think I know which guys made the roster, I could be wrong on a few of them. In addition, there could be guys on the roster that weren't at camp. This is the best I could come up with from the information that I have. Also, don't forget that there will be players coming and going as the season progresses.
I will start to do player profiles of the guys that made the team in the coming weeks, but I am going to do it slowly, and be delicate about which guys I do at the beginning. Coach Cullen is very protective about his roster, and I don't want to do anything that could potentially hurt the organization.

Excellent job with the blog BK! Very well done. Looking forward to more info as it comes!
"Outtastater"
BK you rock!
I am from O=town, glad a couple of our local boys made it. They are good players and will fit right in. Now thats what I call a good team bringing in and taking care of our own boys.
I didn't see any O-town boys in the All-Star game. Don't think they made the final roster.
There were no Owatonna kids in the all-star game, you are right. Also, BK, PLEASE do not start doing player profiles until the roster has been released. This gives other teams the opportunity to swoop in and steal our talent if they know who we have. Thanks for all the great work!
expressgirl,
i know U find it hard to believe, but the league coaches have more respect than that.
Which League? The NAHL? The USHL? Funny to me that you know what I find hard to believe. I am just saying what I have seen in prior years, maybe not in this league, but in others.
Just returned home from the tryout camp and wanted to express how pleased we were with the experience. We felt that the team and the coaching staff did a great job. Our grandson was very impressed with the talent and appreciated the fact that the coaches met individually with each player rather than just putting up a list. He looks forward to playing for the Express and we feel comfortable with him being so far from home with the ladies we met from billeting and the townspeople we met while we were there.
Glad to have you on board. I haven't been to other tryouts, but from what I hear every year is that Cullen runs a very good camp. It looked like all the same old faithful volunteers were back. That is good to see.
I am looking forward to watching a cullen coached team this year.
There was a link on the NAHL site to a newspaper article where Marquette's roster is listed. So it's not necessarily top secret info. I guess each organization has their own way of doing things.

Its small minded people who are insecure who wont post the team. Another team cannot come in a pluck a player from us. Get real.
Also, Cullen has his work cut out for him this season.
Good old Pat is having major thoughts about how his performance will be based upon what we picked as our team.
Time will surely tell.

Your evaluation is based upon what?
Based upon what my eyes saw.
A couple of decent players with experience but tons of newbees and my talks with Coaches.
BK do you also work on the teams website?
Boy, are a lot of you jumping to conclusions or what! Most of us have no idea what cullin or fink are looking for. We don't know the performance history of the players chosen. We don't know how their former coaches spoke about them in tems of work ethic and coachability.
Looks like alot of armchair coaches on this site. I am no huge fan of cullen, but I do know he has gotten results from his teams in the past. If I were betting on this, I would say that most of you will be embarrassed come April of 09. Oh, wait a minute, we are all anonymous on here, we can't be embarrassed. We said say whatever the heck we want and have absolutely no accountability.

WOW, today seems to be a bad day for blogging! Comment deleted after comment deleted. I was at the camps and worked the penalty box on Sunday. I chatted with some of the boys and they all said a good time was had by all, and all wanted the chance to play for Pat. If the players believe in Pat & Eric this much, I think we should too. It will be fun in April to see most bloggers typing about what a great team we have and how they were RIGHT from the start!
Dangler, I agree with you. Watching the games I saw some kids that weren't ready for this level, but the majority were hard working and very skilled. I've been to various USHL, OHL, and NAHL tryouts this past year and none of them had the intensity of this camp. I saw that during the 2nd game on Saturday some of the kids were dragging, but they still gave their all. Every good coach wants this. He needs coachability. If the boys are coachable, over time, they will improve. Personally, I'm looking forward to the season!!

"BK do you also work on the teams website?" - No, I do not. I would be interested in helping them out if they want to make a deal. All they have to do is ask.
Did someone hire a former soviet agent to police and edit the blog? Gosh... looks like Stalinism hit the USA blogasphere.
At last glance, the first amendment still applied to Minnesota.
We are not asking for leudness or vulgarity, but how about letting the people speak?
I have put too much time and effort into this blog to let a bunch of rabble-rousers turn this into something I'm not proud of. I will continue to delete anything I deem necessary. I know for a fact that players and parents are reading this blog, and I will not have this be a negative experience for them. If you want to make rumors up, and slander people, then go create your own blog.
The posts that were deleted, were either slandering people, which is not covered by the 1st Amendment, or was pointless back and forth bickering between 2 posters.
BK, it's your blog, it's your RULES. Some people just can't seem to get a handle on this. They must be from Glassrattler. Keep up the good work!!
The opinions here are obviously not from descendants of the first 13 colonies.
BK you are doing a great job on the blog...I just don't like censorship for other than vulgarity. But thats just me and my descendants escaping tyranny.
Ownership went with past coaching... I am sure ownership will give him a chance. But it gets hot in the kitchen. Its the nature of being a cook.
Must be Dave's blog as he Always deletes posts that HE does not like. I read some of the deleted posts as I get an email notification and they were not bad just disagreeing with another posters input.
I am worried about the new team and how they can perform at the level needed to come close to being in the playoffs.
Also, on Sunday, I talked with parents of kids and the opinion was sketchy about Pat and Eric.
I did not invest in the team but will not buy season tickets this year.
Everyone associated with the team seems arrogant.
Pappy;
What other tryouts (teams) did you attend this year?
Don
BK:
I enjoy this blog. I hate bashing; however, I do not agree that posts be deleted due to lack of agreement for another posters thoughts or ideas and opinions.
No two people will ever agree on every issue. Some people see good in bad and bad in good.
Thanks for keeping this blog positive however hard that may be.
When can the rosters be released and why have they not been released yet?
Dear BK:
This blog is informative; however, it does have a bias spin.
Keep up the good work.
Your friend, ----
I sense no bias on the part of BK.
Don,
We were at the NAHL Tryout in Mahonong Valley and also the NAHL Showcase there. Also attended 2tryouts for Waterloo, Chicago, and Indianapolis (USHL). Peterborough and Saginaw (OHL).
Pappy
It's BK's blog, if you don't like it go start your own.
Pappy:
I think I know you cause we were at Waterloo also, despite threats from Fink.
Take Care!
Don
Dear Don and Pappy;
How dare u guys go to another tryout.
Pat and the Fink should have not let your kids attend our camp.
You guys are traders to our team and cannot be trusted. Shame on you.
Anonymous
Players attend various tryouts because you are not guaranteed a spot on any roster. These camps were held before yhe Express's. What if we hadn't attended any camp and he didn't make the Express?
As far as a traitor. Reading some of the blog entries now and before some were deleted there seem to be other Judas's in the crowd. My boy is ecstatic that he made the team and can't wait until camp starts!!
