Big Kahuna's NAHL Power Rankings - 10/29/2008
1. St Louis Bandits (0)
2. Traverse City North Stars (+2)
3. Topeka Roadrunners (-1)
4. Mahoning Valley Phantoms (-1)
5. USNTDP (0)
6. Alexandria Blizzard (+1)
7. Alaska Avalanche (+1)
8. Wichita Falls Wildcats (-2)
9. North Iowa Outlaws (0)
10. Bismarck Bobcats (0)
11. Alpena Ice Diggers (+1)
12. Springfield Jr Blues (+1)
13. Owatonna Express (-2)
14. Marquette Rangers (0)
15. Fairbanks Ice Dogs (0)
16. Kenai River Brown Bears (0)
17. Motor City Machine (0)
18. Wenatchee Wild (0)
19. Albert Lea Thunder (0)
The Express dropped 2 spots this week, even though they played their best game of the season in the loss to North Iowa. It had more to do with Springfield winning 2 games over Wichita Falls, and Alpena playing better with Nick Graves in goal.
See you at the rink.

The Express have a great opportunity this weekend to gain 4 points. I am not saying Albert Lea should be taken lightly but lets face it they are the weakest team "right now" in our division. As the year goes on they will get better and it will get tougher to beat Albert Lea. We need to take the points while they are still try to get the pieces together. I for one will be disappointed if the Express do not sweep the weekend series.
Go Express!!!
"We need to take the points while they are still try to get the pieces together."
- You hit the nail on the head with that comment. The interesting thing is that it's almost exactly what North Iowa coach Jeff Crouse said about the Express a couple of weeks ago.
It's just a matter of time until the Express put it all together. When that happens the wins will come.

To set the record straight, I will say this one more time:
The "Big kahuna" on the glassrattler forum is not me. He is an imposter who is plagiarizing and attempting to take credit for the blog that I have created.
Please do not confuse me with this imposter. I am a fan of the Express, and clearly the imposter is not.

BK, are your power rankings based upon won/loss records, or based upon a combination of that plus how the team really played that weekend (i.e., improvement of play, injuries, shuffling of lines, etc.)
Hope that the improvement in Express is evident this weekend regardless if they play AL or not. Cullen knows the other teams in division are improving and getting to know each other too. Question is can he get them to gel earlier than other teams and still have them going on all cylinders by the time April comes around.
Keep up the good work - this blog is much more interesting to read then some of the petty stupidity of some threads in the Rattler.
hockeyfan-xprs/nyr - My power rankings don't come from any fancy formula. I start by ranking the teams by total points, then look at number of games played, who they played, where they played, major injuries, player acquisitions, etc... and adjust accordingly.
I also consider how good I think teams are, if I think they are under performing or over-performing and which direction they might be going (getting better/getting worse).

Predictions for tonight's NAHL games (I'm 74-38 on the season)
