One Goalie In & One Goalie Out

The Express officially added goalie Jason Horstman to the roster today, and removed goalie Pat Arnason. Per Pointstreak, Horstman will wear jersey #35.

My take: I had quietly been worried since the beginning of the season about our goaltending situation. If Adam Buegler ever needed a night off, or got injured we could have been in trouble. I haven't seen Horstman play this season, but he was good enough to make the preseason roster in Tri-City (USHL), and played at Shattuck. He wouldn't be here if he wasn't an upgrade at that position. Whether he backs up Buegler, Buegler backs him up, or they share time in the net, I feel much better about our goaltending situation.

Can each one in our family get the free magnet?

We are so excited. How large are they?

- I haven't seen the finished product, but they are apparently bigger and nicer than the ones that were made last year.

I don't see why they wouldn't go to the first 500 people that pay to get in the door. However, I do not work for the organization, so don't quote me.

On a side note, one thing everybody can do to help this franchise succeed is to support the local businesses that sponsor the Express. Look at the program, listen to the announcements during the game, look at the rinkboards, and then chose to do business with the companies that are advertising throught the Express. If these companies are getting business through advertising with the Express, it will make it that much easier to do it again next year.

We need a game program first.

need a better announcer over B2. He spends more time talking about pucks near the booth, and players names he likes to pronounce vs announcing the game and getting people to identify with the players and the game which could eventually lead to more people WANTING to come to Four Seasons!!!

To the anonymous reader that posted a comment strongly disagreeing with the goalie moves this week. I will not post comments that contain attacks directed at individual players. However, I would like to address a few of your comments.

1. Yes, stats don't lie, but they also don't tell the whole story. Nobody that has seen the Express play this year would disagree with the goalie changes this week. In addition, the roster decisions aren't made solely from game performance. I would assume that performance in practice plays a big role in those decisions.

2. You disagree with the way they "toss these kids around like trading cards". This isn't grade school gym class. Not everyone gets to play, and not everyone gets to win. These kids know going into the process that nothing is guaranteed. If they don't perform on the ice, they won't play, or they might get cut. I'm sorry if that seems harsh, but that is the reality of the situation.

3. You were dead on with this comment: "Nothing will ultimately save us unless our offense picks up as well. We aren't going to win many putting 1's and 2's on the scoreboard." I couldn't agree more.

Thanks for reading, and thanks for contributing. You don't have to agree with my opinions, or those of the other readers, or those of the organization. However, if you're going to post a comment please choose your words carefully when talking about individual players.
