The USHL's expansion Fargo Force released their roster today, after wrapping up their final camp yesterday. See the entire roster here: http://www.areavoices.com/force/?blog=32110. I haven't seen a tryout camp roster, but I believe there were at least 3 guys that attended that are on the current Express roster, along with a couple of Express draft picks. Jake Sloat and Tom McCarthy were drafted by the Express, and both made the 25 man Fargo roster. This doesn't really affect this year's Express team, as neither attended our tryout camp, and I can't imagine that the organization thought they would get these guys. Of the guys currently on the Express roster, only 1 made the Fargo roster. Presumably, that would mean we should see the others report to Express training camp Monday.
My take: As stated previously, I think I have a fairly accurate read on the current Express roster, but with all the secrecy, I can't be positive. If my roster is correct, the Express really only lost 1 guy that "should" have been on the roster. The couple of guys that didn't make the Force will be big-time guys on the Express this year. In an ideal world, all of your draft picks would end up on the final roster, but I would rather shoot high and take a chance on some kids that might not end up in an Express sweater, than shoot low. Once the guys report next week, I can fill everybody in on the names. Also, don't forget that the Force will still have trim 2 guys from the roster before the regular season starts, so there is still a chance that our guy could end up in Owatonna.
