Just What The Doctor Ordered

The Owatonna Express got there first win of the young season today with a 12-1 hammering of the Kenai River Brown Bears. Express forwards Stephen Carew and Sean Randall both scored hat tricks, Tony McDonald scored a goal and 3 assists, and Alex Niestrom tallied 4 assists. Goalie Adam Buegler with the help of a greatly improved defensive effort, held the Brown Bears to just 1 goal, and the Express broke their 3 game losing streak in a big way.

My take: Not to toot my own horn, or hurt my shoulder patting myself on the back, but I predicted an Express win today. Memo to all the folks who were screaming for a refund on their donations, or going to boycott the home opener: There's plenty of room left on the bandwagon, welcome back aboard.

Really nice win for the Express today, and it confirms what I've been telling you since tryout camp: There is a lot of talent on this team, and when they start playing together and executing on the ice, they are capable of scoring a lot of goals. I hope the guys take the rest of the weekend to enjoy today's victory, and then get back to work on Monday preparing for a couple of rivalry games next weekend against North Iowa and Albert Lea.

heard pat say on the radio that the defense need work, looks like they did ok today, but overall they are in need of improvement.

I couldn't agree with you more BK. This team needed this win today to bring a little confidence back. North Iowa is a tough place to play and it would not have helped being 0-4 with N0 confidence.
What I saw today is an offense that attacked taking a lot of the pressure off the defense and goal tender. The best Defense is a good offense!
Hats off to the boys and I hope they come out the same way next week.

Everyone is jumping up and down about this win. We are 1 and 5. Not a time to celebrate yet.

Lets focus on the games ahead and take one at a time.

And BK, stay home!

"We are 1 and 5. Not a time to celebrate yet."

- Point of clarification: The Express are 1-3, not 1-5. The two-team practice and scrimmage against Fairbanks do not count as regular season games.

I rejected your post from a few minutes ago. You are welcome to think whatever you want, but I will not post misleading and incorrect information. The Express are 1-3.
