- The Express are going to play 2 preseason games next weekend against the Fairbanks Ice Dogs. The first game will be at the 4 Seasons Centre in Owatonna on Friday September 12th, at 6:00pm. There will be no admission charge. The second game will be the next day, Saturday September 13th at 7:00pm. I haven't been able to confirm the location for the 2nd game, but it will be out of town, I believe in Rosemount. I'll post more information as I receive it.
*****UPDATE*****
The Saturday game is 7:05pm at Rosemount Ice Arena. This is a "home" game for Fairbanks, and they will be selling tickets at the door. ($6 for adults/$5 kids).
- Former Owatonna High School player Korby Anderson is playing with the Rochester Ice Hawks this fall. Rumor at Express tryout camp was he had a roster spot with the North Iowa Outlaws. - Austin Minnesota's John Kirby is giving up his senior year with the Packers to play with the Russell Stover AAA program in Kansas City. He is the younger brother of former Express player Tim Kirby, and attended the Express tryout camp back in July. I think very highly of the Russell Stover program, and I think this is a great move for him. He should get more ice time, and better competition which will further his game more than another season at Austin. He could even play his way into a tender from the Express next season.

"Should be good games and glad they are free. Will there be drinks?" - I agree. In my opinion, Fairbanks is the early favorite to win their division this season. Hopefully our guys can get the jitters out prior to the showcase.
As far as the drinks, I would guess you are on your own. Dust off your tailgaiting gear, and get there early. You can buy be a cold one.
